Jadat Baghdad

Conceived as a gesture of civic renewal, the landscape vision draws inspiration from the Baghdad Round City and the city’s Golden Age of knowledge, public life, and innovation. The design emphasizes cultural continuity, climate resilience, and inclusive public realm.

The landscape vision for Jadat Baghdad reclaims the city’s spirit of innovation, transforming its public realm into a living canvas of memory, geometry, and civic life. Faced with harsh climate, flooding, and narrowing urban corridors, the project responds through resilient, adaptive design - integrating dry bioswales, native planting, shaded walkways, and microclimates. At the same time, it seizes the opportunity to reawaken Baghdad’s historical identity and global legacy.

The delivery of Jadat Baghdad was grounded in seamless interdisciplinary collaboration and meticulous planning. The project’s design development journey, spanning from concept to IFC, was carried out by a fully dedicated team of landscape architects, architects, MEP engineers, and infrastructure specialists. Close coordination with the local architectural lead and MEP teams was essential, particularly in shaping integrated strategies for stormwater drainage, electrical layout for feature lighting, and mechanical support for interactive water elements.
